Pro Tips
Don't look at the keyboard
Touch typing means keeping your eyes on the screen. It feels slow at first, but your speed will increase dramatically once muscle memory develops.
Focus on accuracy first, speed second
It's tempting to type fast, but accuracy builds the right muscle memory. Speed comes naturally once you can type accurately without thinking about each key.
Use the home row as your anchor
Keep your fingers on ASDF and JKL; (the home row). Return to this position after pressing any other key. The bumps on F and J help you find home without looking.
Practice for short sessions, but do it daily
15-20 minutes of focused daily practice is more effective than one long session per week. Consistency builds muscle memory faster than intensity.
Use the Warm Up before longer sessions
The Warm Up feature gives you quick exercises to loosen your fingers before a practice session or typing test. It helps you reach peak performance faster.
